Mayor inspects abattoirs

CHENNAI : Chennai Mayor M. Subramanian inspected the Perambur abattoir and the newly modernised Villivakkam abattoir on Thursday and asked the civic health department officials to carry out improvements in slaughterhouses.

Mr. Subramanian said the Villivakkam abattoir modernised at a cost of Rs.26 lakh, was a model slaughterhouse based on which the Perambur abattoir would soon be modernised.

He has asked the officials to take care of some repairs at the Perambur slaughterhouse.
