Drainage system to be restored

Thiruvananthapuram: A high-level meeting convened by Minister for Water Resources N.K. Premachandran here on Thursday decided to restore the drainage channels in the Thiruvananthapuram West constituency and avoid waterlogging. Officials were directed to remove obstacles choking the canals and drains in the Pazhavangadi, All Saints, Bala Nagar, Rajiv Nagar, Poonthura, Puthenpally, Kaithamukku, Manikyavilakam, Sreekanteswaram, Kamaleswaram, Palkulangara, Vanchiyoor and Manacaud areas.

Plea for naval aerodrome

Thiruvananthapuram: The Confederation of Residents Associations has urged Defence Minister A.K. Antony to set up a naval aerodrome at Vizhinjam.
