`Youngsters coming up with better short stories'

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: There is tremendous growth in short story writing in Malayalam, said writer Sethu on Thursday.

At the inaugural speech on `50 years of the story' organised by the Samastha Kerala Sahitya Parishad as part of Malayalam Week observance, he said youngsters were coming up with better stories than the people of his generation. The Malayalam language has much to look forward in this direction. However, in the field of poetry and novel there has not been much growth.

Punathil Kunhabdulla presided over the function.
