NEW DELHI: The Central Information Commission on Friday reserved its verdict in the case pertaining to the Union Public Service Central (UPSC) filed by some candidates who had appeared in the Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2006. The full five-member Commission, headed by the Chief Information Commissioner, reserved the order after the final hearing. The verdict is expected to be delivered by Monday or Tuesday, said Sunil Don of Transparency Seekers, a group of candidates that had filed an appeal with the UPSC to reveal details about the preliminary examinations and a simultaneous complaint with the CIC after the UPSC had declined its request. Holding that an early decision will help the students, as the Main Examinations will be over by November 10 and thereafter the whole information will be rendered redundant, Mr. Don said the manner in which the arguments had shaped up at the final hearing had given them great hope. This was the first time that the CIC heard a case on three occasions. The first hearing took place on October 16 and the second followed on October 23.
