Ex-Speaker selected for IIPA honour

TIRUPATI: Chairman of the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) and Governor of Karnataka T.N. Chaturvedi has announced a list of six personalities to be honoured in recognition of their contribution to the institute founded by none other than former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.

According to a press note released here, the six were selected as `outstanding and distinguished gentlemen' and would be felicitated either by the Vice-President or the Prime Minister at a special function in this connection at Delhi.

Following are the six awardees: A. Eswara Reddy, former Speaker, AP Assembly and presently one of the vice-presidents of the IIPA; S.R. Maheswari, former professor of IIPA; Noorjahan Bava, professor of Political Science, Delhi University; S.P. Varma, Emeritus Professor of IIPA; Dr. T.K. Thanickachalam, Joint Director of Agriculture, Chennai and Saxena, New Delhi.
