Church centenary fete

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The centenary celebrations of Mateer Memorial Church, Church of South India (CSI), South Kerala Diocese, will begin on Sunday.

Thanksgiving services, public meetings, entertainment programmes, conferences and seminars will be held as part of the celebrations, which will continue till December 3.

The centenary celebrations will begin with a prayer service by Rev. S. Vasanthakumar, deputy moderator, South Kerala Diocese. The public meeting in the evening will be inaugurated by head of the royal family of erstwhile Travancore Uthradom Tirunal Marthanda Varma.

`My Saviour,' a light and sound show chronicling the birth, crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, directed by `Soorya' Krishnamoorthy, will be the highlight of the function.

The two-hour show will be based on poems written by V. Madhusoodhanan Nair on Christ.
