Two tanks to be developed

Rs. 18 crore earmarked for the project

  • Free bicycles for poor high school boys

    SHIMOGA: Minister for Water Resources K.S. Eshwarappa said on Saturday that Rs. 18 crore had been earmarked for the development of the Nidige and Purle tanks.

    Launching work on a road at Umblebylu at a cost of Rs. 4.95 lakh, a road at Yaraganal at a cost of Rs. 3 lakh and asphalting Kaluhole road at Mattur at a cost of Rs. 4.95 lakh, Mr. Eshwarappa said that a plan for the construction of a Bhadra link canal at a cost of Rs. 19 crore had been prepared.

    Mr. Eshwarappa said that sufficient funds had been released for infrastructure development in rural areas.

    It had been decided to give free bicycles to boys studying in government high schools, the Minister said.

    Former president of the Shimoga Taluk Panchayat Thimmappa was present on the occasion.
