Mahila Sangham stages protest

Special Correspondent

KURNOOL: Activists of Mahila Sangham, affiliated to the CPI(M), protested vehemently against the demolition of community toilets at Kallur here on Saturday.

The women staged a demonstration at the office of the Superintendent of Police on Friday night and later insisted upon the municipal authorities to visit the place and revive the complex.

Serious differences cropped up between the local Congress and CPI(M) leaders over the community toilet complex.

The residents living in the vicinity of the complex were objecting to its continuance as it created serious unhygienic conditions in the area.

A section of Congress leaders supported the residents.
