Purushotham moves into final

Hyderabad: Wild-card entrant T. Purushotham Reddy shocked fourth-seeded V. Shanker 7-6, 6-3 in the 45 years & above singles semifinal of the second GVK-ITF Seniors (veterans) tennis tournament at Fateh Maidan Tennis Complex here on Saturday.

In the other semifinal, V.T. Ranganath defeated K.R. Raman 6-1, 6-2.

Semifinals: 45 years & above: Doubles: S. Settu & V.T. Ranganath bt R.V. Rama Raju & G. Krishnam Raju 6-1, 6-3; V. Shankar & K.R. Raman bt Uma Maheshwar & T. Purushotham Reddy 6-3, 6-3.

55 years & above: Ram V. Mohan bt Kodanda Ram 6-4, 6-1; Madhav Ghate bt Srikanth Parekh 6-1, 6-1.

Doubles: Final: Madhav Ghate & Srikanth Parekh bt Madan Mohan Singh & Venkatachalam 6-1, 6-4.

Semifinals: 65 years & above: Nagaraja Rao bt S.K. Rednam, 6-3, 6-1; Keshav Perumal bt R. Ananda 3-6, 6-2, 6-2.
