TOKYO: Tournament favourite Brazil downed the United States in straight sets on Saturday to continue its unbeaten run at the women's World volleyball championships. Brazil won 25-23, 25-21, 25-13 to hand the No. 6 ranked United States its first defeat in the tournament. Russia beat Olympic champion China 20-25, 25-23, 25-17, 25-12 in a replay of the Athens 2004 final. Russia improved to 4-0, while China dropped to 1-3.
