Karimnagar bypoll: YSR, Keshava Rao address party leaders

  • `Neutralise TRS efforts to consolidate Telangana sentiment'
  • YSR, Keshava Rao accuse TRS of pulling out of alliance hastily

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy and APCC president K. Keshava Rao have asked the Congress leaders to systematically plan the party's campaign for the byelection to the Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency.

Addressing a gathering of the ruling party ZPTCs and MPTCs and others here on Saturday, they called upon the leaders to neutralise the Telangana Rashtra Samithi's efforts to consolidate the Telangana sentiment in the latter's favour. Advising them to convince people that the TRS had no patent over the sentiment, they said the separate Telangana slogan owed it more to the Congressmen.

Earlier, several ZPTCs and the MPTCs along with the Congress MLAs expressed confidence in the State leadership and pledged complete support to the candidature of T. Jeevan Reddy. Janata Party's Metpalli MLA K. Ramulu extended cooperation to Mr. Jeevan Reddy. Sports Minister M. Satyanarayana Rao was also present.
