HYDERABAD: The fire mishap at the western block in the Salar Jung Museum was not a security lapse on the part of the Central Industrial Security Force. In fact, it was the CISF personnel who responded to the incident and helped to put out the fire, said D. Shyamala, Deputy Commandant, CISF. She told presspersons here on Saturday that fire security did not come under the purview of the CISF. But the CISF jawans guarding the Nizam's jewellery on noticing the smoke,a jawan on duty alerted the CISF control room on his wireless and informed the fire services. "The fire hydrants could not be used as the power supply was switched off'', she said. An internal enquiry had been ordered.About 40 CISF personnel were posted at the museum in shifts round-the-clock.
