To investigate the alleged harassment of a woman employee

Thiruvananthapuram: A special police team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Shanghumughom) B. Reghunath was set up to inquire into the alleged harassment of a woman employee by an official of the Law Department.

The team, constituted by City Police Commissioner Manoj Abraham, has also Circle Inspector (Pettah) R. Mahesh, CI (Ponthura) Suresh Kumar and CI (Medical College) Mohammed Bari as the members.

The woman is under treatment at a private hospital in the city after she tried to commit suicide at her house on Thursday. Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs M. Vijayakumar visited the hospital on Saturday.

The Pettah police have registered a case under Section 376 of the IPC against the official, who had reportedly gone into hiding after the case was registered.
