dated November 6, 1956: UK-French troops in Egypt

The British Defence Ministry announced in London on November 5 that British and French parachutists had landed on Egyptian soil. "Troop-carrying Valetta and Hastings transports took off from Cyprus and 90 minutes later the first wave of troops touched ground in the Suez zone."
