J.C. Diwakar Reddy
VIJAYAWADA: Panchayat Raj Minister J.C. Diwakar Reddy and Pradesh Congress Committee president K. Keshava Rao on Sunday rejected TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu's charge that the Government had failed to promptly come to the rescue of people battered by the heavy rain. Speaking to newspersons during their visit to several villages to assess damage due to rain, Mr. Reddy and Mr. Rao felt that the TDP chief was criticising just for the sake of doing so. "I am fully satisfied with the relief measures taken by the Government, but I will not say that this is enough," Mr. Rao said. Mr. Rao said that a team of the PCC Kisan Morcha was touring the district along with agriculture experts to suggest the best alternative cropping system to farmers. Mr. Reddy recalled that Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had responded promptly to the situation and passed instructions to the Collectors while he was in Machilipatnam on October 29.
