NEW DELHI: Ranjodh Singh slammed in six goals as Government Model HS (Chandigarh) swamped Panhala Public School (Kolhapur, Maharashtra) 13-0 in a league match of the 35th Nehru junior hockey tournament athere on Sunday. Harmanpreet Singh and Davinder Singh scored a brace each. The win gave the Chandigarh school a place in the knock-out qualifier for the super league. In other matches, NCC (Andhra Pradesh) and Dhudial Khalsa SSS (Patiala) scored identical 4-1 wins against Khalsa HS (Kolkata) and Sunderlal Inter College (Rampur) respectively. Guru Gobind Singh Sports College (Lucknow), which defeated Government Boys HS (Jashpurnagar, Chhattisgarh) 7-0, also made the knock-out qualifier. The results: NCC 4 (B. Jaya Surya Prakash 2, Singi Reddy Sukanth Reddy, B. Shaskant Kumar) bt Khalsa HS 1 (Rahul Kumar Singh); Guru Gobind Singh Sports College 7 (Achal Shukla 2, Abhinav Walter 3, Abdul Qadir, Janardan Gupta) bt Government Boys HS 0; Government Model HS 13 (Harmanpreet Singh Bali 2, Ranjodh Singh 6, Davinder Singh 2, Dharamvir Singh, Baljinder Singh, Harinder Singh) bt Panhala Public School 0; Dhudial Khalsa SSS 4 (Ranwant Singh, Ranjit Singh,Malak Singh, Kanwarjit Singh) bt Sunderlal Inter College, Rampur, 1 (Shiraj Alam).
