Young World Fest off to colourful start

BANGALORE:
The Hindu Young World Fest 2006 got off to a colourful start at the Mangala Auditorium, NMKRV College, Jayanagar 3rd Block, on Monday.
On the opening day, there was preliminary round of group dance Indian popular/film/western.
The day belonged to the wannabe Prabhudevas and Michael Jacksons. Eight teams - The Oxford Senior Secondary School, J.P. Nagar; Army Public School; Sudarshan Vidyamandir, Jayanagar; Sri Aurobindo Memorial High School, Banashankari; Florence Public School, R.T. Nagar; Auden Public School, Girinagar; Bishop Cotton Boys' School, St. Mark's Road; and KRLS Patel Ramareddy School, Domlur qualified for the finals on Thursday. Group dance Indian folk is scheduled on Tuesday, while group dance Indian classical on Wednesday.
Over 5,000 children from 125 schools are expected to participate in the mega programme.
