THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Christ Nagar Senior Secondary School, Thiruvallom, has been awarded the prestigious International School Award by the British Council as a recognition to the contribution made by the school in promoting the concept of `globalism' and interdependence of nations by giving the curriculum an international dimension.

Mathew Thengumpally, principal of the school, received the award from Vicki Treadall, British Deputy High Commissioner, at a ceremony held in Mumbai recently.

The award entitles the school to use the British Council Logo for a period of three years.

According to a release issued by the school, the academic year 2004-2005 was marked by an array of activities such as presentations, seminars, exhibitions, debates, projects, exchange programmes with foreign schools and talks by resource persons from abroad.
