NELLORE: Andhra Pradesh Health, Medical, Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation (APHMHIDC) managing committee member Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy has appealed to the people to donate to the Collector's Relief Fund to conduct free heart surgeries for children below 12 years from below poverty line' (BPL) families. Those interested can approach District Collector M. Ravi Chandra. The contribution amount can be disbursed among 200 children who need immediate heart surgeries, he told reporters. Free medical camps have been conducted across the district to identify children suffering from heart diseases. As many as 411 children with heart ailments have been identified in which 250 need immediate surgery. "As of now, 26 children have been operated upon and 35 more will soon undergo surgeries with two corporate hospitals. For the rest, financial assistance is essential," he said. Also, those interested in donating blood to these children can contact Sridhar Reddy on his mobile 98494-92225.
