Bada Dosth
The film shows that if presentation and treatment are crisp, even an everyday story will make its mark. It is highly entertaining stuff. Suresh Gopi dons the role of Daya Shankar, who valiantly takes on drug traffickers but loses interest in the job, finding himself worthless and unproductive before the bloodthirsty and fiendish activities of a violent and cruel desperado, Jeevi. Jeevi, played by Siddique, has active help from his partners in crime. Among them is Home Minister K. Divakaran, played by Devan. Daya Shankar becomes a compassionate big brother for the downtrodden. His anger knows no limit when miscreants murder his wife (Jyothirmayi) and hearing impaired brother (Manikuttan). His opponents, including Jeevi, are done away with in cold blood. The film runs fast, every scene building suspense. Credit must be given to M.V. Shajan, editor. Fight sequences, by Pazhani Raj and Mafia Sasi, resemble those of Tamil films, but are highly innovative, enthralling the frontbenchers. Dance and music are missing, as is usual in action-oriented films. Background music by Girish Menon is superb. Suresh Gopi comes up with a good performance, long awaited from him. Director Viji Thampi must be credited for it.
