The monkeys have done it again. They disrupted the court proceedings in the District Court at Kalpetta on Monday. The judge reportedly had to suspend the proceedings and return to his chamber as the monkeys started throwing down things from the ceiling. The lawyers went out to escape from the `monstrous' animals. The court staff with the help of policemen shooed away the monkeys. As the court proceedings resumed, the monkeys reappeared on the roof of the court building. They came just minutes before the arguments in a case related to shooting down of a deer began. Earlier, the court had ordered that monkeys in Kalpetta municipal areas, including those on the court premises, be caught and released into the forest. But the Kerala High Court had stayed the order. Interestingly, earlier, when the court took up the case of monkeys, the `naughty' animals staged a `protest' by trooping into the court and making dirty the entire court hall with their urine and excreta.
