Novel invitation

K.P. Kunhi Moosa and V.M. Fousia are no polyglots. But their love for languages merits mention.

So, when they decided to print a wedding card for the nikkah of their daughter Shezna, with Shahzad in Thalassery on November 12, they insisted that it should be in different languages.

The blue wedding card has a unique format containing texts in five languages — English, Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil and Arabic.

Each fold is devoted to a particular language. Moosa, currently editor of a local magazine, `Sathyadhara,' also runs a publishing house, `Mythiri,' in Kozhikode.

"I have friends in various parts of the country, including Jammu and Kashmir. To get an invitation in a vernacular usually touches the heart," said Moosa.

However, Moosa did receive some protests also.

His friends in Karnataka were unhappy for not printing the invitation in Kannada.
