Mufti on self-rule

Look for out-of-the-box solution to Kashmir issue

Centre should not dissolve legislature Governorship must alternate between Jammu and Kashmir

New York: Maintaining that his self-rule formula for Jammu and Kashmir is not against the Constitution, the former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed has said there is need to look for an out-of-the-box solution to the Kashmir problem, taking into account "realities."

The People's Democratic Party leader, who met a cross-section of Kashmiris from both sides of the divide here, told PTI that the peace process between India and Pakistan was irreversible as it was people-driven and that the resolution of the J and K issue was inevitable.

"I am not saying that everything is going to happen suddenly," said Mr. Sayeed, who is here as part of an Indian delegation to the U.N. — PTI
