KOLLAM: West Bengal Education Minister Tapan Roy is all praise for the performance of the Literacy Mission in the State. Talking to presspersons after an interaction with District Literacy Mission personnel at the district panchayat office here on Tuesday, Mr. Roy said the continuing education programme undertaken by the District Literacy Mission could well be a model for his State. He said that women and children were seen to extend a noteworthy participation in the literacy mission programme of the district. In his opinion, it is the success of society's awareness on education. The progress registered by the Literacy Mission in Kollam is outstanding. Mr. Roy addressed a function at the district panchayat hall. President K. Devaki presided. Secretary of West Bengal's Mass Education Department J.S. Sundara Shekar; Mass Education Director D. Chakraborthy; and Resource Centre Director Nandini Khajuri; were present.
