COIMBATORE: The sixth edition of The Hindu-Young World Quiz will be held in Coimbatore on November 10 at the CIT Auditorium at Peelamedu. The quiz will start at 10 a.m. and the teams should report at 9.15 a.m.

The Hindu-Young World Quiz series was started in 2000 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Young World supplement.

The regional winning teams of two members each compete for top honours at a Grand All-India Final at Madurai on November 14, where the ultimate winners are crowned in all glory and showered with a veritable cornucopia of prizes.

Once again the quiz master this year is V.V.Ramanan, well-known in quizzing circles. Eveready is the title sponsor. The associate sponsor is Jamaai Ice Cream. The national sponsors are Encyclopedia Britannica, Reliance Hello, HP Invent-Printers, Garden City College, Reynolds, Vizag Steel, Cycle Brand Agarbathis, Britannia-Tiger Biscuits, Penguin, State Bank of Travancore. The official drink is Maaza and the TV sponsor is SS Music. The event manager for this programme is Quizwallahs.

Any two students from Standards X to Plus Two can form a team (maximum of three teams from each school). There is no entry fee. Schools who have not registered their students so far can contact us over phone no. 0422-2217538 for registration on Wednesday and Thursday (November 8 and 9) between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
