CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has decided to replace the 40-watt conventional tube lights with T-5 28-watt energy-efficient tube lights in the new buildings and institutions being constructed by boards and corporations and autonomous organisations in the State. Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said here on Tuesday that the use of energy-efficient T-5 28-watt tube lights had been made mandatory for the existing buildings also so that power could be saved up to 50 per cent. He said several steps had been taken by the Renewable Energy Department and the use of compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) had been made mandatory in Government-aided institutions.
