Patiala: With nearly three months left for the Punjab Assembly elections, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh will begin a road show (Punjab Vikas Yatra) from Nangal in Ropar district on Wednesday. Capt. Singh will traverse 5,800 km across the State in a phased manner in 38 days and his road show will culminate at Talwandi Sabo in Bhatinda district. The Chief Minister told reporters here that no speeches would be made during the road show and he would only interact with the people and listen to their problems. Replying to a query, Capt. Singh said it would be the sole prerogative of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi to select the various candidates for the forthcoming Assembly polls. The Congress would welcome anyone who wanted to join it, he said adding the party was totally united and he had no differences with PPCC President Shamsher Singh Dullo. He said the Rs 25,000-crore loan given to farmers could not be completely waived off, but the State Government was trying to formulate some policy to waive to bail out farmers. PTI
