ECR in semifinals

VISAKHAPATNAM: Host East Coast Railway moved into the semifinal of the second Rail Cup football tournament edging out Chinnayya and Sannibabu Memorial FC in sudden death at the Railway Stadium here on Tuesday. ECoR won 8-7.

In the penalty shoot-out, Ch. Eswara Rao, Ch. Reddy, Veerraju and Lova Raju converted the penalties for EcoR, while B. Sekhar, K. Venu, V. Chanti and R. Satish were successful for ChSM FC.

In the sudden death, the teams were tied 2-2 after two rounds of penalties, with ECoR's Sita Ramaraju and Srinivas V. Hari and V. Murali of ChSM FC finding the target. Sita Ramaraju converted his second penalty, while the ChSM FC player failed in his attempt.
