AMU triumphs

ALIGARH: Aligarh Muslim University won the North Zone inter-university cricket tournament beating Panjab University, Chandigarh, by virtue of the first innings lead in the final played here.

The scores: Aligarh Muslim University 172 in 67 overs (Iftikhar Aziz 30, Gourav three for 21, Naresh three for 45) and 291 for eight in 98 overs (Shubham Binda 83, Amir Anwar 72, Gourav four for 68) drew with Panjab University (Chandigarh) 58 in 22 overs (Imtiyaz Ahmad seven for 31, Amir Anwar three for 15) and 211 in 43 overs (Rahul 94, Akashdeep 43, Anupam 43, Imtiaz Ahmad five for 62).
