VIJAYAWADA : K. Suresh, a businessman from Visakhapatnam, makes you want to feel the joy of losing weight. Bathed in the bliss of the fat rewards that life bestowed on him after he slimmed down, he shared with the media his experiences of a weight loss journey with the VLCC. Participating in a `client meet client' session at the VLCC on Tuesday, he said: "Dealing with a weight problem can be stressful, but there are not only ways to manage your weight successfully, but also help you feel better about yourself in the process." He went on to explain how he was encouraged to visit the VLCC centre seeking a solution to the overweight problem. At 45, he weighed 119 kg.
High costs
It all began when Mr. Suresh went to a doctor with a complaint of a pain in his leg. The doctor said it was mainly due to overweight and suggested a few tests that were to cost him nearly Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 9,000. Going by the high cost of the treatment, Mr. Suresh decided to consult the physiotherapist at the VLCC and seek his advise on weight reduction treatment.
Short span
"I was eager to jump start a weight loss regime and get rid of the problem once and for all. I have lost 38 kg in a short span of five months and I am loving the way I look now," said an elated Suresh. "You need to reward yourself in other ways than food when you are losing weight. The most difficult part of maintaining weight loss is sticking to what got you there," said Neelam Sharma, area manager of VLCC. The beauty and fitness unit planned to commence courses from next month. Replying to a query if the clients were subjected to vigorous physical exercise, Ms. Sharma said the VLCC offered a machine treatment where the client would not be directly involved in the exercises. "We believe in negative calorie balance, dietary modification and lifestyle modification," she said.
Integration
The seamless integration of technology and advanced therapy programmes in VLCC had provided holistic, speedy and miraculous solutions to serious problems related to beauty and weight, she claimed.
