Thrissur dominates State Mini Games

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thrissur took top honours in swimming events of the State Mini Games at the Water Works Swimming pool here on Tuesday.

Thrissur came first in both boys and girls section even as Jithin Viswan and V.C. Abhirami (both from Thiruvananthapuram) won their third gold medal of the meet.

Thrissur boys defeated Kasargod 25-16, 25-22, 20-25, 25-22 to win the volleyball title.

Wayand took the girls title with a 25-20, 25-14, 25-22 win over Kanur.

There was some cheer for the host, which won the boys football and girls hockey titles respectively.

Malappuram edged out Thiruvananthapuram by a solitary goal to win the girls football title. Palakkad won the boys title in hockey with a 2-0 win over Kaanur.
