Bypolls on December 4

NEW DELHI: The Election Commission on Tuesday fixed December 4 for the byelections in Karimnagar and Bobbili Lok Sabha constituencies in Andhra Pradesh and to the Chamundeshwari Assembly seat in Karnataka.

The Karimnagar seat has been vacated by TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao following differences with the UPA over the Telangana issue. The Bobbili seat has fallen vacant following the death of sitting TDP member Pydithalli Naidu.

In Karnataka, it is to be seen whether Janata Dal (Secular) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will contest the byelection jointly.
