Survey work for power project in Yellur-Santhur to start shortly

UDUPI: Deputy Commissioner V. Ponnuraj said on Tuesday that the survey work for the setting up of the 1,015-MW coal-based thermal power project at Yellur-Santhur in Udupi district would begin shortly.

The Deputy Commissioner told presspersons here that he had received instructions from the Chief Secretary as well as from other important officials from Bangalore that arrangements should be made to begin the survey work for the plant as soon as possible.

Permission for the proposed plant had already been received, Mr. Ponnuraj added.
