Polytechnic to remain closed

KOCHI: Government Polytechnic, Kalamassery, will remain closed indefinitely from Tuesday considering the "explosive situation" on the campus following tension between two groups of students, said the Principal of the polytechnic in a statement. A meeting of the PTA will be held on Friday at 2.30 p.m. There will be a Hostel PTA meeting on Friday at 10 a.m. — Staff Reporter

Unattended baggage creates scare

NEDUMBASSERY: An unattended baggage found near the arrival side of the domestic terminal of the Cochin International Airport created anxious moments at the Cochin International Airport on Tuesday evening. Fire at godown

KOCHI: A fire erupted late on Tuesday night at a godown of Kunnath Chemicals, Edayar. The police said the fire was detected at 11.30 p.m. Two fire tenders were pressed into service to put out the fire. — Staff Reporter
