Bangalore: The children of this school can stun you with facts about Karnataka. They can reel out facts about the State's topography, agriculture, rivers, forests and wildlife, culture and cuisine.

The students of Padma Sheshadri Bal Bhavan (PSBB) Learning Leadership Academy have been part of an educational project on the State, conducted by the school as part of the Suvarna Karnataka celebrations.

The academy belongs to the Padma Sheshadri Group of Schools, Chennai, and has been set up in collaboration with the Learning Leadership Foundation.

The project was inaugurated on November 3 (Friday) by M.R. Gajendra Gad, former Vice-Chancellor of Kuvempu University. The school, that has completed five months in Bangalore, takes up thematic projects from time to time, said Geetha Loganathan, head mistress.

She said that Karnataka was divided subject-wise to make it easier for students. As part of the project, cultural events were organised.

Classrooms were dedicated to different aspects covered in the project. "Kannadanadu gandhada beedu" was about nature's splendour, while "Karnatakada gatavaibhava" took the visitors through various dynasties that ruled the State.

"Jeevana shaili" was about the festivals, costumes, culture and cuisine of the State and Sundara prakruti was about jungles, forests and national parks and wildlife found in the State. The students had set up a fitness zone, where one could learn more about the sports personalities.
