CPI wants relief for all floods-hit ryots

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The State council of the Communist Party of India has demanded that the Government pay compensation of Rs. 2,500 an acre to all farmers who lost their stand crop in the recent floods in coastal districts of Guntur, Krishna and Prakasam.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, CPI State secretary K. Narayana said the Government's decision to limit compensation to crops that were in less than 2.5 acres was not proper and wanted the Government to extend it to all crops.
