PATHANAMTHITTA: The CITU district meet will be held at the Santhi auditorium in Konni, near here, from November 10 to 12. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, CITU district president P.J. Ajayakumar and secretary K.C. Rajagopalan, MLA, said J. Mercykutty Amma, national vice-president of the union, would inaugurate the meet at 10.30 a.m. on Saturday. The district meet will be held as a prelude to the CITU State meet to be held in Palakkad from December 8 to 11and the national meet in Bangalore from January 17 to 22. CITU all-India secretary K.O. Habeeb, State president K.N. Raveendranath, CITU State secretaries N. Padmalochanan, Peroorkada Sadasivan, CPI(M) State committee member R. Unnikrishna Pillai, Kerala State Karshaka Thozhilali Union (KSKTU) district secretary V.R. Sivarajan, DYFI district secretary N. Sajikumar and Students' Federation of India district secretary Roshan Roy Mathew will address the inaugural session. CPI(M) district secretary K. Ananthagopan will deliver the keynote address during the general discussion to be held on Sunday afternoon. Minister for Labour and Excise P.K. Gurudasan will inaugurate the public meeting to mark the culmination of the meet at 5.30 p.m. in Konni on Sunday. CITU State secretary Anathalavattom Anandan will deliver the keynote address. Organising committee chairman N.S. Bhasi and general convenor Malayalappuzha Mohan were present at the press conference.
