CHENNAI : As part of the ``vigilance awareness week'' observed by the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, about 12,000 employees of Chennai Telephones took a pledge to eradicate corruption and bring in integrity and transparency in all activities. Many programmes such as vigilance quiz, poster campaign and lectures by eminent personalities, on anti-corruption and vigilance, would mark the week-long celebrations ending November 11. M. P. Velusamy, Chief General Manager, appealed to the customers to use the complaint redressal services for prompt action on their complaints. He further suggested that since the following numbers could be frequently used for assistance/registering complaints, they may be stored for easy recall: Cellone / excel 24610500 / 94440 24365; Broadband services: 800-424-1600; Leased line / data circuits: 12676; Internet (dial-up: 12678; Public grievances:12728; Leased circuits helpline: 2534 1717; Chennai Telephones call centre: 1500; and the Chennai Telephones website - Chennai.bsnl.co.in He sought the cooperation of the customers in informing about "grey calls" i.e., whenever a local telephone number gets displayed while receiving an international call, customers could inform the vigilance officer through phone number 2642 5005, as this would facilitate trapping the offenders.
