Task force set up to resolve trade disputes

To sustain uninterrupted growth

CHENNAI: The State Government on Wednesday constituted a special task force to resolve disputes in trade and industry and to sustain uninterrupted growth of industries in the State.

According to an official press release, the task force, headed by Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, will comprise industrialists and representatives from various industry associations.

The members are: industrialists M.A.M. Ramaswamy, Venu Srinivasan, N. Srinivasan, Ram V. Thiagarajan, and P.R. Ramasubrahmaneya Rajha; P.K.N. Panikkar, president, Chemical Industries Association; M. Rafeeque Ahmed, president, Council for Leather Exports; M. Manickam, president, South India Sugar Mills Association; A. Sakthivel, president, Tirupur Exporters Association; Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu, state president, All-India Industries Federation; S.V. Arumugam, president, South India Mills Association and V. Ramachandran, president, Auto Components Manufacturers Association. The Chief Secretary will be the vice-chairman. Secretaries of Finance and Commercial Tax departments will be the ex-officio members while Industries Secretary will be the member-secretary, the release added.
