Stage set for Young World fest finals

BANGALORE: The finals of The Hindu Young World Fest will be held at Mangala Auditorium, NMKRV College, Jayanagar 3rd Block on Thursday.

Television artiste Malavika will be the chief guest at the inaugural function and several Kannada film stars will attend the valedictory function scheduled at 3 p.m.

Actors Vijay Raghavendra and Sudha Rani will give away prizes to the winners.

The final round of group dance Indian popular/film/western, group dance Indian folk and group dance Indian classical will be held.

Flower arrangement, collage, cartooning, ceramic tile painting and garland making complete the list of competitions for the day. The participants have to be at the venue by 9 a.m. In the group dance Indian classical competition held on Wednesday, five teams have been selected for the finals. The teams from Sree Cauvery School, Indiranagar; Sri Aurobindo Memorial High School, Banashankari; Sri Vani Educational Centre, Basaveshwaranagar; SBM Blossoms School, Kanakapura; and Kendriya Vidyalaya - I, Jalahalli will compete in the finals. In the group dance Indian popular/film/western event, eight teams The Oxford Senior Secondary School, J.P. Nagar; Army Public School; Sudarshan Vidyamandir, Jayanagar; Sri Aurobindo Memorial High School, Banashankari; Florence Public School, R.T. Nagar; Auden Public School, Girinagar; Bishop Cotton Boys' School, St. Mark's Road; and KRLS Patel Ramareddy School, Domlur have qualified for the finals.

The teams from Sri Rama Vidyalaya, Jakkur; Twinklers High School, Vijayanagar; St. Paul's English School, J.P. Nagar; Carmel School, Padmanabhanagar; Presidency School, Nandini Layout; Little Flower Public School, Banashankari; SSB International School, Indiranagar; Sri Aravinda English School, Hassan have made it to the finals of group dance Indian folk competition.

Jury

Charumathi, Shona D'sa Saldanha, D.R. Ganesh, Ganesh V., Prithvi and Ree Diwan will form the jury for group dance Indian popular/film/western event.

Subha Dhananjay, Ramu Kanagal and Sneha Nandagopal are the judges for group dance Indian folk event while Sheela Chandrashekar, Soundarya Srivathsa and P. Praveen Kumar for group dance Indian classical event. Shyamala Ganesh and Sheema Chanchani, Shyla Prasad, B.N. Chondamma and Giridhar Khasnis, Shridhara S. and Pradeep Varma, Lata Sharma and A. C. Gurumurthy, Suneeta Prabhuswamy and Nisha Balakrishnadas are the judges for flower arrangement, collage, cartooning, ceramic tile painting and garland making competitions.
