Ranchi: A crowd of about 2,000 youths mobbed star cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni and held him up for about four hours when he had gone to a men's parlour for a hair-cut here on Wednesday.

As soon as the news spread around noon that Dhoni was in the parlour situated just opposite a women's college in the city, the fans jammed the busy street, police said.

Dhoni's flowing mane has caught the attention of fans not only in the country but across the border as well with Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf commenting on his hairstyle during India's tour in January-February this year.

Dhoni was held up for about four hours before a police mobile party escorted him out to his home.

``I would like to request Dhoniji to please inform the police before he goes to a public place, so that it will be slightly easier for us to deal with such situations,'' city Superintendent of Police Akhilesh Kumar Jha said. — PTI
