A search engine manned by trained personnel will help locate books

Bangalore: Have the net and e-books and e-journals done away with books in print? Not yet, it appears.

"Bangalore Book Festival," organised by Bangalore Booksellers and Publishers Association, is back for the fourth year.

It will be held from November 10 to 19 at Palace Grounds (Mekhri Circle entrance) from 11a.m. to 8 p.m. Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy is scheduled to inaugurate the festival on Friday.

Association president Balram Sadhwani told presspersons that there would be a search engine manned by trained personnel .

With inputs such as book's title, author or publisher, it would help the visitors in locating books on a specific topic , he said. The 150 publishers and distributors will include those from Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Urdu, said festival convener J. Ullasa Kumar.

The Hindu group of publications is among the participants.
