Gulbarga: Bangalore teams both North and South entered the semifinals in the girls section of the state level badminton tournament at the Chandrashekar Patil Indoor sports facility here on Thursday. The Department of Pre University and Vocational Education, Gulbarga is conducting the tournament. While Bangalore North downed Bellary, South was equally emphatic in its 2-0 verdict over Hassan. Belgaum got past Udupi 2-0 in the third quarters. Belgaum will play Bangalore South while Dharwad/Dakshina kannada winner takes on Bangalore North in the round of four. The results: Pre-quarterfinals: Girls: Bangalore North bt Chikmagalur 2-0, Bellary bt Tumkur 2-0, Dakshina Kannada bt Haveri 2-1, Dharwad bt Shimoga 2-0, Udupi bt Mandya 2-0, Belgaum bt Davanagere 2-0, Hassan bt Koppal 2-1, Bangalore South bt Raichur 2-0.
