Eight-hour shift system for nurses to be extended

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: More government hospitals, including taluk and local-level hospitals, will implement the eight-hour shift system for nurses, Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan has said.

The Chief Minister was speaking after inaugurating the 48th State meeting of the Kerala Government Nurses' Association (KGNA) here on Thursday.

He said the eight-hour shift system was already in place in most district hospitals and medical colleges. Nurses in other hospitals too had been raising the demand.
