Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala School Teachers' Association marched to various district headquarters on Thursday demanding that social security for women be ensured, adequate facilities be provided for women in workplaces and that discrimination against women in the employment sector be done away with. They also demanded that gender sensitisation be made part of the school/college curriculum. The march to the Secretariat was inaugurated by J. Arundhati, MLA.

Woman found hanging

Thiruvananthapuram: A 40-year-old woman was found hanging in her house at Mambazhakunnu in Vattiyoorkvau police station limits on Thursday. According to the police, the deceased, Molly, alias Kumary Latha, a resident of Prasanth Bhavan, Mambazhakunnu, Chenikonam, is believed to have committed suicide between 9.30 a.m. and 11 a.m. — Staff Reporter

Ganja seized

Thiruvananthapuram: The police have arrested a 58-year-old woman of Muttathara in connection with the seizure of 200 gm of ganja from her. A team, led by Circle Inspector (Poonthura) B. Suresh Kumar and SI A. Jayakumar, seized the ganja on Thursday from Suseela, a resident of Puthuvel veedu, near Muttathara.
