Woman done to death

Special Correspondent

CUDDALORE: A woman Parvathi (35) was allegedly done to death by a group of persons who forcibly fed her pesticide at Thirumanikuzhi near here on Friday.

The brother of the deceased, Panjamurthy, had filed a complaint with the police stating that Parvathi was a victim of political vendetta.

In the recent local body elections, Kasinathan and Arul contested for the president post of the Thirumanikuzhi panchayat.

Mr. Kasinathan had won the election, but his supporters reportedly nursed a grudge against Parvathi, a widow, who campaigned for his opponent.

It was stated that a group of persons entered into her house and held her by force and poured the pesticide.

The police have booked a case.
