Sharad Pawar undergoes angioplasty

NEW DELHI: Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar underwent angioplasty at the Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre here on Saturday. Doctors claimed that he was progressing well.

"Mr. Pawar had been brought to the hospital for check-up on Friday as he was feeling exhausted. When we did the angiography, we found a blockage in an artery and it was fixed. It takes two or three days to recover. He is progressing well,'' said Naresh Trehan, Executive Director of Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre.

Mr. Pawar was admitted to the hospital on Friday and kept overnight for undergoing a full check-up.
