MCD officials sentenced

New Delhi: A Delhi court has sentenced two officials of the House Tax department of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi to one-year rigorous imprisonment each for accepting illegal gratification.

Special Judge Sunil Gaur also imposed a fine of Rs 1000 on each of the convicted persons Shyama Sunder Pushkarna, 52, and Lekhi Kumar Ram 53, finding them guilty of receiving a bribe of Rs 1000 from Parvesh Kumar, a resident of Geeta colony here.

They were convicted under sections 7 and 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
