KARIMNAGAR: TDP deputy leader in the Assembly T Devender Goud alleged that the Congress and TRS leaders were enacting a `big drama' by forcing the byelection in Karimnagar parliamentary constituency. Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, he charged that both the Congress and TRS had clandestinely planned the byelection in Karimnagar constituency for their own unethical political gains in the region. He predicted that the Congress and TRS would again forge an alliance after the polls.
Appeal to voters
He called upon the people to end the drama being played by the Congress and TRS in the elections by ensuring the victory of the TDP candidate. He also appealed to the voters not to succumb to the money reportedly being distributed by the Congress and exercise their franchise fearlessly. Mr Goud said that they would go to the people with the slogan of betrayal of Telangana region by the Congress Government. He flayed the State Government for neglecting the projects of Telangana and diverting Godavari water to other parts of the State.
Kadiam's demand
Former Minister Kadiam Srihari asked Chief Minister Y S Rajashekhara Reddy to clarify his stand on the development of Telangana region and execution of pending irrigation projects. He alleged large-scale irregularities in the execution of SRSP flood flow canal and Yellampalli projects in Karimnagar district.
Door-to-door campaign
The TDP leaders said that they plan to launch door-to-door campaign in the constituency and expose the misdeeds of the Congress and TRS in the elections. Former Minister E Peddi Reddy alleged that the Government had failed to fulfil the election promises in the district. TDP leaders Nagam Janardhan Reddy, T Srinivas Yadav, Sana Maruthi and others were also present.
