Bhopal: Veteran Gandhian leader and freedom fighter Mahesh Dutt Mishra died on Saturday at Harda town, about 200 km from here, due to old age, family sources said. Mr. Mishra, 93, was a bachelor. He had worked as personal secretary to Mahatma Gandhi. Known for his contribution to the freedom movement, Mr. Mishra had been elected to Lok Sabha twice. Condoling his death, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said the services of Mr. Mishra as a committed representative of people would be ever remembered. "His contribution to freedom movement would be a source of inspiration for the new generation,'' he said. The funeral would be performed tomorrow. -- PTI
